This is an update about Linnie Smith, Nick's daughter, (Sammy's step-daughter), who is in college now. These updates in regard to Ruby's death are almost over. She was loved by many so it's difficult to just gloss over the end of her life - especially when her loved one's were so devastated in losing her.
Linnie is no exception, she loved Ruby dearly, but what makes her situation a bit tougher is that she has been avoiding her family in favor of hanging out with her college friends. This has her dad, Nick, really upset with her. Unfortunately, the more Linnie avoids talking to Nick and cancels out on spending time with him, Sammy and her brothers and sister, the worse the whole situation gets.
