The Show Must Go On!

The whole situation with Sheyenne and Harley really knocked Brad for quite a loop!
And I have to admit, it did my Simself too but I wasn't nearly as devastated
as Brad was.
He was a regular basket-case over it all!

Guess I rolled with it so well because I'd noticed the sparks flying between Sheyenne and Harley whenever they were together since they both teened up.
I'd just hoped it if they were to get together that it would have been under much
better circumstances than this!!

Brad felt like he'd been ran over by a steam-roller and after all the drama subsided he basically crashed.
He laid down on the couch and didn't want to get up for anything or anyone.
This was NOT like him at all and it grabbed everyone's attention.

Sheyenne tried talking him off the couch to greet the party guests that were beginning to arrive but he didn't want to, (which normally he'd be the first one at the door, big smile on his face and waving everyone inside).

Yep, he'd met his match with this one and it showed, (greatly).

When Hunter, Joon and Helen arrived Brad jumped off that couch -
he wanted to talk to Hunter about "his son".

And that's what he did too -
took Hunter aside and told him every gory detail.

Hunter is Brad's best friend and they've never held back
anything they had on their minds and Brad didn't hold back with this either.

Hunter wasn't too thrilled about it all -
at least not in how it all went down.
But a party wasn't the place to handle something like that
but he did promise Brad that he'd talk to Harley ASAP.

And he kept his word to Brad on that.

He got right to the point with his son, told him he was NOT pleased, (at all),
about what happened and asked Harley to explain himself, if possible.

Harely did his best to tell his side of it but there really wasn't much to tell.

With the party in full swing, it would just have to wait,
which Hunter had every intention of talking about it more once they got home.

And Hunter made sure to give his son strict orders to BEHAVE himself
for the rest of the evening and outside of just "talking" to Sheyenne,
he was to keep a safe distance and keep his hands to himself!

We all had to let it go and get back to the focus of the party -
the twins were kidding up!!

Journey was first in front of the Birthday Cake!!

Unfortunately, Brad just couldn't get into the spirit of it.

And everyone noticed too,
they all kept asking me over and over,
 "What's the matter with Brad?"

I told them what any good wife would -
that he was just tired from work.
What else could I say?

It was so bloody hard to see him so distracted
by the situation with Sheyenne
and she was having a tough time looking her dad in the eye too.

But we couldn't, (and wouldn't), let that get in the way of the joy -
it was Journey and Jonah's Birthday!

TA DA!

Kid Journey!!

Good thing Brad wasn't able to read Sheyenne's thoughts -
although from the look on his face it sure seemed like he could.

Then it was Jonah's turn at the Birthday Cake!

Thank goodness Brad was able to put aside the upset
and enjoy being the one to hold Jonah at the cake!

As you can see by the look on Jonah's face -
his daddy is his all-time Hero!!!

POOF!

Kid Jonah!

It was a good party and all the kids and teens
had fun and they all behaved themselves wonderfully!

My Simself looked over and saw Brad approaching.
I knew that look very well,...

He needed a hug

My heart went out to him.

There wasn't much I could do to change things
but if hugs help, I have plenty to give!

The party ended early and those that were going to stay
for dinner decided not to.

The kids didn't notice the tension in the air that night -
thank goodness!!!

They had the time of their lives talking about going to school
the next day and stuffing their faces with spaghetti.

Jonah LOVES spaghetti!

I knew Brad would pass on dinner -
but didn't expect him to disappear from the family
but as soon as all the guests went home he was no where to be found.

I finally did find him -
in our bedroom and what my Simself saw,..well..
it ripped my heart out.

He was so deeply distraught over everything.

It's not easy for a wife to see her husband so tore up inside,
especially when it it's so very rare that it happens.

For Brad, seeing a teenage boy putting his hands all over his daughter
and her taking part in something that he views only a full-grown woman should
be doing, well, ...it's a harsh slap of reality.

Saddest part of it all is that he'll never look at Sheyenne the same.

Yep, in one quick moment he lost his innocent young daughter.

He just didn't want to let go of his precious little girl.

For as long as my Simself and Brad were together,
HE was the strong one,
the one who consoled and comforted away all my big worries.

Suddenly the shoe was on the other foot.
This time he needed his wife to be the strong one,
he needed someone that loved him to kiss away all the boo-boo's.

Of course a few kisses and hugs wouldn't change what
happened that afternoon, but it was well worth giving it a try.

When you love someone -
that's just what you do, ..it's what you WANT to do.

It took some doing but my Simself finally got a little smile out of  him.

And one little kiss led to another little smile
and that led to a hug and then more kisses and more smiles,..
and even some serious swooning!

Gosh, the next thing ya know,
we're on the bed doing exactly what Sheyenne and Harley were.

Only it ended up a lot more frisky!!

Brad was feeling a LOT better in no time!!

As a matter a fact -
we both were!

Woo-Hoo Baby!!!

Did I say,...B-A-B-Y?

Yep!
Noo-boo #6 on the way!
