Third Time's A Charm!

***Just a drive-by update for Sammy, SORRY!
I'll be playing her lot again soon and will be able to spend more time there.
Next update they'll be more to share.

Never a dull moment at the Smith house!
Right after Nicole moved out Sammy popped up with her noo-boo bump.

Sammy and Nick never seem to get much of a chance to slow down.
Nero and Nesnia keep them running and with a noo-boo on the way, Sammy was really burned out at the end of the day. Ruby's surgery ended up being postponed because of a nasty flu bug that got her down and when Ruby's down, a lot doesn't get done around the house. It didn't help either that Nick's job got more demanding, (he's almost to the top of the Intelligence career), requiring him to put in a lot of over-time hours.

It all got to be too much for Sammy and she quit her job as Hand of Poseidon.
It wasn't any easy decision to make but she felt the twins needed her at home and with Ruby not well, it just made more sense to quit her job and not just take maternity leave. They'd been able to put some money into their savings and Nick was making a very good income so they'd do okay without her paycheck.
Plus her dream career had kind of lost it's magic for her.
Funny how that can happen once you start a family.
After making the call to quit she felt a huge weight lifted from her shoulders so it was the right choice.

In no time at all Nick and Sammy's noo-boo decided to make an arrival.

It's A Noo-Boo!!

It's A Boy!!!

Meet Stuart!

Nero and Nesnia thought getting a little brother was the coolest thing!

It was the night before Ruby's surgery that it came time
for Stuart to toddler up!

What a handsome little man!!
He looks like his brother and sister!

No twins for Sammy and Nick this time and they were perfectly FINE with that!
Everything that's been happening in the family lately has taken a toll on everyone and neither Sammy or Nick had the energy for twins.

Both were thrilled to have another little boy but decided he would be the last. Four children, (don't forget Nick's daughter, Linnie, who's in college), was enough. Nick's job would be even more demanding in the future and Sammy was thinking about pursuing another career once Stuart was a kid.

And no one knows quite yet how things will be with Ruby.
She recovered from the flu very quickly with no lingering effects, (thank goodness!).
Her back problem wasn't super serious but the surgery was rather invasive and would require a lot of recovery time.
They needed to be prepared for the worst even if it was a slim possibility.

With Nicole gone and no one knowing exactly where she was there was a heavy cloud over the family, especially for Ruby and Nick. Sammy contacted all of us Simski's and everyone else she could think of that knows Nicole hoping to find a clue to where she might have gone but no one knew a thing.

Nick tried to hide it but he was angry at Nicole for going underground like she did. Reminded him of the time she ran off when they were teens.
Ruby took it very hard back then and she was taking it hard this time too.

Both he and Sammy worried that it would effect her surgery and even Ruby's Dr had told them that she needed to be at her best physically and emotionally to get through the surgery well. Ruby tried to hide her upset but everyone could tell she was distraught. Best Sammy could do was leave word with everyone Nicole knew to PLEASE contact her family ASAP!!

As of now, nothing has been heard from her outside of one short message
she left for Nick right after she moved telling him that was "alive" and "okay" .

The family would stay at the hospital with Ruby as long as it took -
Linnie was heading over from college to help with Stuart and the twins
and Nick took the day off work.

Hopefully all will go well and Ruby's recovery will be a speedy one.
